rofmiaの製品は、馬革をメインに使用しています。国内のタンナーで鞣された革を、さらに厳選して手配しています。馬革は非常にしなやかで柔らかく、軽量で、きめの細かい肌質をしています。多くの革を使った、大きなバッグでも、非常に軽やかな仕上がりとなります。 また、完全素上げの染料染めなので、革本来の持つ手に吸い付くような質感をそのまま残す事ができます。顔料による艶がないため、深く、品のある色目です。
馬は気性が荒く動き回る動物の為、革には多くの傷が残っています。効率よく革を使うためには、顔料でコーティングし、傷やスレを隠すのが普通ですが、rofmiaでは素上げの状態のものを使用しています。肌触りと、深い色味を残す為です。 製品の品質を保つため、本来の1.5倍の要尺を使用しています。それでも傷やスレを避けきれず、目立たない部位に入れ込んで使用する場合があります。むしろその傷やスレこそ、馬革の特徴であり魅力でもあります。その点、ご了承の上、どうぞご検討下さい。
ミシン糸は最も太い種類に分類される糸をステッチで使用しています。シンプルながら迫力があるのは、極太番手のステッチを効果的に使っていることにあります。
